Embrace AI at your institution while at the same time enabling the safe use of AI in writing assignments. Confirming authenticity is a new and positive approach to academic integrity. ## Student authenticity score We analyze multiple aspects of a submission to measure the level of original student writing. This gives us evidence to calculate a student authenticity score — the strength of the "student voice." The instructor can judge whether the level of AI writing assistance is acceptable and whether the submission is valid for assessment. Additionally, the instructor can use the result in a learning process to foster academic integrity to see more original work and encourage critical thinking. The absence of original student writing can also be evidence of contract cheating.
